Laurie McKinna tactics have been effective for the past few seasons. It might not have been pretty but the mariners are one of the most successful teams in the a-league.
Who would you replace him with? Graham Arnold, Farina, Nick Theo?

At least you will have McBreen at the start of the new season.
Been a suprising bonus for us at the end of the season. I admit i intially thought it was a stupid idea.. but he has proved he is still willing to fight.
I will glady swap David Mitchell NS

ok ive had a day to calm down from the result - its true he has performed well in the past HOWEVER in the last two seasons he seems to have run out of ideas, true he has a smaller budget to work with and lesser quality squad than many others but he hasnt been able to inspire the team or tactically outwit his opponents when the chips are down... It hasnt helped with Matty Simon and Mrdja both in terrible form for most of the season and problem positions not fixed i.e LB - Clarkie is way beyong his used by date now.
Locally theres not much to replace him, theres rumours about Graham Arnold, i think a better option would be to give a rookie coach from the partner club Sheffield United to serve an apprenticeship in the A-League.
The thing that concerns Mariners fans most is the lack or should i say complete absence of any comment from the club itself, for a club that prides itself on community engagement they have well and truly dropped the ball for 2 seasons now.
McBreen has been good for glory and that was the one highlight from yesterdays game i guess!
Having said all this i am really pleased for both Perth and Wellington who will taste finals football for the first time - thats got to be a good thing for the league.

Mate I can understand the frustration.
Two things on the above statement - One league based and the other based in my heart/hatred for Mitchell.
Firstly will Wellington be in the league next year ? wasn't their plans to omit them ?
Secondly - it's great to see the Glory finally make the finals.. although it may be a bare squad with our more prestigious players vying for a WC place and going to other clubs. BUT - I've promised myself if Mitchell is still the coach of Glory next Season I will support another team.
Do you think that's a bit OTT ?

Well looks like Mitch is goign to be able to complete his 2 year contract.
Not happy - but I guess it saves us paying him out and well it looks like we will finally make the finals.
Just hope next year is his last.
Hmm speaking of shit - Did we do a prediction league for this year ?

When we actually go out with a formation that suits the players skills and they acutally focus on playing football we are a magnificent side.
Think I've seen this twice this year
I can't see any team stopping Melbourne to the finals. yes they have been beat but when they turn it on they are (IMO ) the best team in the league.
Shame Dunx isnt around anymore - Love to get the feeling from the Adelaide camp ( no not to gloat - but been a big turn-around for the worse )

Ha Ha - I take it NS this isn't good news ?
Mate all I can say is - enjoy McBreen. Unsure if he is trying to make a statement or it's how he will play all the time but I've had to eat my words with him

Arnold out ?
It's not what we wanted at all, would much rather Lawrie
That being said he is the coach and has my support until proven otherwise, his track record fills me with little confidence though!
